The Starry Night Cracker Butterfly Pendant, cosmos Butterfly Necklace, Hamadryas laodamia, or starry cracker Pendant
This butterfly is pretty incredible. It was created by me in my studio in London Ontario Canada. The wings are repurposed from a damaged specimen of a Hamdryas laofamia butterfly, also known as the Cosmos butterfly or the starry night cracker butterfly. One side looks just like a stary night sky or a firecracker sparkler. The other side is beautiful red in color with black and ivory stripped forewings. You get two looks in one with the purchase of this piece. This comes.on an 18" sterling silver chain.
This specimen has been purchased from a licensed supplier in Ontario Canada.
Handcrafted by me in my London Ontario Canada studio. Though my pieces are watertight, they are not 100% waterproof so care should be taken to not allow these to get wet.
Butterflies & Insects used in my pieces have been sustainably raised and bred on insect farms globally and play an important role in Conservation programs. Many governments and conservation programs (WWF & Nature Canada) teach sustainable practices of raising insects for economic purposes for livelihood rather than jobs that destroy rainforests such as slash and burn agricultural farming and logging. It is important to support such conservation programs that teach these sustainable economic alternatives.
