Blue Butterfly On Copper And Barnboard Stand
I have created this soldered glass art decor using the real butterfly wings of a blue morpho menelaus butterfly. Hanging on a copper wire that is set into reclaimed barnboard wood stand that has been sealed to hold its authentic natural patina. This looks great on a shelf or mantel piece or tucked into a grouping of plants or books. It suits any decor and delights nature lovers and gardeners.

Handcrafted by me in my London Ontario Canada studio. Though my pieces are watertight, they are not 100% waterproof so care should be taken to not allow these to get wet.
Butterflies & Insects used in my pieces have been sustainably raised and bred on insect farms globally and play an important role in Conservation programs. Many governments and conservation programs (WWF & Nature Canada) teach sustainable practices of raising insects for economic purposes for livelihood rather than jobs that destroy rainforests such as slash and burn agricultural farming and logging. It is important to support such conservation programs that teach these sustainable economic alternatives.
